Dell Thunder: Android 2.1 Smartphone Leaked

Leaked Dell Thunder August 2010And the saga continues. First reported on back in April during a major leak that revealed to the internet a whole batch of mobile goodness with names like Thunder, Flash, Smoke, and Lightning (Oh My!). The Dell Thunder has emerged once again to do battle with the evil Apple-doers of the world. Boasting a 4.1 inch OLED screen and a 720p camera this Android device is probably not one you’re going to want to immediately dismiss as we end summer and start to think about the holiday season.

Unlike its recently launched cousin the Streak, the Dell Thunder isn’t a hybrid phone-tablet (phablet). It is a true mobile phone running on Android 2.1 and is full of all kinds of sexy mobile goodness. Like most mobile offerings as of late is appears to be built to perform as a mobile phone and entertainment device. That 4.1 screen (if it actually happens) will definitely go a long way towards showcasing apps like the Hulu app for Android.

As usual, it’s expected that Dell will slap a nice skin over Android just like they did for the Streak so we can’t wait to see what that’s going to look like. Hopefully this device will have wildly more success than it’s ill-fated predecessor, the Aero.
